Your e-Aadhaar card is your Aadhaar Card in electronic form. That means you can use your Aadhaar for different verification by the government. Just like the Aadhaar card, the e-Aadhaar contains all the necessary information such as your biometric data, demographic details, aadhaar number, photograph and general information like name, date of birth and gender.

The development of the technology has made Aadhaar information available to UIDAI for electronic storage and retrieval. Aadhaar’s online edition is known as e-Aadhaar, and the same is available in PDF format, and aadhar can be downloaded from the UIDAI website.

The Aadhar can be accessed via the official UIDAI web portal by using any of the following:

  • Using Aadhaar Number
  • Using Virtual Identification Form (Virtual ID)
  • Using Enrollment Identification Form (Enrollment ID)

 Download Aadhar Card using Aadhaar Number

  • Visit UIDAI’s official website- Select the tab ‘download aadhar card’ You will be redirected to a new page where you can choose the mode of downloading aadhar card
  • Select the option ‘Aadhaar’ and keep your aadhar number ready
  • Enter your details such as aadhaar number, full name, pin code of your residential address and enter carefully the correct captcha image
  • Select the option ‘Get One Time Password’ to get the OTP on your registered mobile number
  • If you are using mAadhaar, select ‘Confirm’ to send the OTP
  • Enter the appropriate six-digit OTP as per the request
  • Select ‘Validate and Update’ button to access your e-aadhar
  • Enter the password and press the submit button.
  • You can now download your e-aadhar card in PDF format
  • Once you have received your e-aadhar card, you can print it out of this paper

Steps for Downloading Aadhaar using Enrollment ID

  • Visit UIDAI’s official website-eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
  • Select the ‘aadhar card download‘ tab You will be redirected to a new page where you can choose the download mode
  • Choose the ‘EID’ option and enter your personal details
  • Enter your 14-digit registration ID number and 14-digit time and date values.
  • Enter your details such as full name, pin code of your residential address and carefully enter the correct captcha image Select
  • ‘Get One Time Password’ option to get the OTP on your registered mobile number
  • If you are using the mAadhaar app,
  • Select ‘Confirm’ to send the OTP
  • Enter the correct six- OTP as requested
  • To access an Aadhar card, click ‘Validate and Access’ button
  • The e-aadhar card will be downloaded to your computer in PDF format.

Downloading Aadhaar using VID

  • Visit UIDAI’s official website-eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
  • Select the tab ‘download aadhar card’
  • You will be redirected to a new page where you can choose the download mode
  • Select the choice ‘VID’ and enter your personal details
  • Enter your 16-digit VID in the requested box
  • Enter your details such as aadhar number, full name, pin code of your residential address and enter the appropriate captcha code carefully.
  • Select ‘Get One Time Password’ choice to get the OTP on your registered mobile number
  • If you are using mAadhaar app, select ‘Confirm’ to submit the OTP
  • Enter the appropriate six-digit OTP as per request
  • Select ‘Validate and Download’ button to download aadhar card Your e-aadhar card will be downloaded to your device in PDF format.
